**Brief Description:**  Students will learn time management strategies, then choose one to use for a week.

**Know Before You Start:** This lesson can be used as a review or an introduction to time management.

**Comic 1**

**Comic 2**

**Hook:**

- Read and discuss sample Comic 1.
  
    - Have you ever felt overwhelmed with too much school work or chores?
    - Have you ever fallen behind in something and didn’t know how to catch up?  
- Discuss some of the ways students have tried to be more successful with time management.

**Activity:**

- Read and discuss sample Comic 2.

- Have students choose one of the time management strategies to use for an entire week. 
- Have each student create a comic explaining a time management strategy including a few steps they can use to implement the strategy, e.g., for the “Use a timer” strategy;  students can write down:
  
    - “Get a timer from the store.”
    - “Try 20 minute increments and increase time if needed.”
    - “Take 10 minute breaks in between focus periods.”
    - “Ask my mom to remind me to set the timer at home for homework.”

**Closure:**

- Have students discuss their comics and reflect on the following:
  
    - What went well with the time-management tool? Why? 
    - What was challenging with the time-management tool? Why? 
    - Why is time management important for me?

**Differentiation:**

- Allow students to use the speech-to-text feature.
- Allow students to use the voiceover feature to read their comics aloud.
- Print out the example comic for individual students.
- Use the Think-Pair-Share strategy during whole group discussion.
- Allow students to work in pairs or groups as needed.
- Provide a list of time management strategies.
