Hook: Read and discuss the sample comic. What are some of the causes of global warming? What are some of the effects? What can we do to help?

Activity:

  • Using the sample comic as a guide, have students create a comic which highlights some of the things we can all do to help preserve the environment and Earth's health.

  • Allow students time to research before they begin.

  • Grade on use of appropriate backgrounds, context and use of things like facial expressions and poses.

Closure: Have students read their comics to the class or to a partner.

Differentiation:

  • Students can work independently, in groups, or with a partner.

  • Allow students to use speech-to-text feature as needed.

  • Provide printout of the sample comic for student reference.
