Brief Description: Play a game of Would You Rather to create opinion comics with your students.

Know Before You Start: Brainstorm some Would You Rather? scenarios to discuss with the class. 

Hook:

  • Read and discuss the Would You Rather? comic as a class. Have students share and support their opinions.

  • Have students brainstorm several more would-you-rather questions to discuss with the class.

Activity:

  • Have students create a three-panel Would You Rather? comic of their own.

    • Panel 1: Present the would-you-rather first option.

    • Panel 2: Present the would-you-rather second option.

    • Panel 3: Present their answer and explain their reasoning.

Closure:

  • Allow students to share and discuss student comics.
  • Have students explain the reasons behind their opinions. 

Differentiation:

  • Allow students to use the speech-to-text feature.

  • Provide sentence stems. For example, I would rather ___ because ___. 

  • Allow students to work with a partner.

  • Allow students to use the voiceover feature to read their comics aloud.
