Know Before You Start: A prior discussion about online safety is helpful, but not necessary.
Hook:
- Read and discuss the sample comic.
- What are a few dangerous things that Tanya did?
- What are a few safe things that Ezra did?
Activity:

Have students brainstorm a list of ways to stay safe online. The list should include things to do and things not to do when online.

Students should recognize that they cannot share private information, such as their name, age, address, school, or birthday.

Students should recognize that they can share personal information, such as interests, likes/dislikes, favorites, e.g., food, sport, music, game, etc.

Using the sample comic as a guide, have students create a three-panel comic highlighting some of these online safety tips.
Closure:
- Students will share their finished comics with a partner.

Allow students to use the speech-to-text feature.

Allow students to use the voiceover feature to read their comics aloud.

Print out a list of things that are safe to share and things that are unsafe to share online.
