  • What is your favorite component of STEM and why? 

Activity:

  • Read and discuss the sample comic.

  • Explain that the comic does not feature a STEM career, but rather explains how STEM relates to the chosen career.

  • Students will create five-panel comic discussing and explaining the following:

    • The career.

    • Why the career is of interest.

    • How STEM is related to the career.

Closure:

  • Have students share their comics illustrating a career and how it is connected to STEM.

Differentiation:

  • Allow students to use the speech-to-text feature.
  • Allow students to use the voiceover feature to read their comics aloud.
  • Provide examples of STEM careers from which to choose.

  • Provide sentence stems, e.g., "I want to be a ____. I want to be a ____ because ____. STEM relates to the career because ____.)"
